My portfolios "<a href="http://jgimage.smugmug.com/Havana">Havana</a>" and "<a href="http://jgimage.smugmug.com/People%20of%20Havana">People of Havana</a>" are good examples of my efforts to capture the living essence of this city where I have lived since 1950. This theme has contributed with numerous fine art images to my personal exhibits. My Havana images are also in private collections in Cuba, Mexico, USA, Chile, France, Portugal, Spain, UK, Argentina, and Germany. Photos of Havana have been employed for interior design in distinguished settings (<a href="http;//www.cubahotelbookings.com">Saratoga</a> Hotel, Havana), used by some of Cuba's high level promotion design offices (Habaguanex SA), and included in quality illustrated magazines (<a href="http://www.macomag.com">MACO Destinations</a>, <a href="http://www.macomag.com">MACO Caribbean Living</a>, <a href="http://www.cubaabsolutely.com">Cuba Absolutely</a>). I am also sure many of my images in "<a href="http://jgimage.smugmug.com/Around%20the%20World">Around the World</a>" and "<a href="http://jgimage.smugmug.com/Political%20Photography">Political Photography</a>" portfolios could also classify as street photography.<br> <strong>Ballet and Dance</strong>.- My work <font size="2" face="Trebuchet MS">within this very specialized photography niche</font> has grown steadily over the last years, having achieved already an important output in the preparation of artists’ portfolios, of ballet and dance performance documentation, and in the design of promotion material. The Cuban National Ballet (and its sponsored International Havana Festivals) and the Lizt Alfonso Ballet, are the centerpiece of these portfolios. My ballet images are in private collections in Mexico, USA, and Spain. In general, I take advantage of natural or existing light, color composition and balance, and surprising angles.
